Those who choose a Social Worker Career as a profession are advocates for individuals in need. Social workers help individuals cope and solve everyday issues, as well as more traumatic experiences. These issues may include substance abuse, mental health, school issues, and family problems, as well as child and family services. Most social workers must have a bachelors degree in social work and hold a license. They should also be registered with the state that they work in as a registered social worker. The nature of social work is noble, but incredibly trying, social workers continuously witness the ills of society and how they affect the family. Social work can be very challenging and demanding, but it is also extremely satisfying at the end of the day, knowing that the hardships and long hours are meaningful and will benefit the community as a whole. Social workers have vast opportunities in research, medical, psychology, and sociology. Social work is a diverse field and offers the widest range in opportunities. Social workers can work as care coordinators, strategic consulars, clinical specialists, educators, and therapists.
